Auto Moderation

Lythea can moderate your server on its own — delete spam, block links, filter words — without you having to handle every incident manually.

Spam Protection

Anyone who sends too many messages in a short time gets automatically slowed down. In the dashboard you set the threshold — default is 5 messages in 5 seconds. As an action you can choose: delete message, warn, timeout, or mute.

Mass mentions (@everyone / @here / multiple users at once) are detected separately. Useful if you've disabled @everyone but still want to prevent someone from pinging 20 users in a single message.

By default, everyone can send links. If you want to restrict that, there are two ways:

  • Block all links — useful for channels like #general where links don't belong. Exceptions can be made per role (e.g. moderators can still post links).
  • Block scam links only — Lythea checks links against known phishing and scam domains. Good for larger servers where you can't manually review everything.

Discord invites (discord.gg/...) can be filtered separately — handy if you don't want members advertising other servers.

Word Filter

In the dashboard under AutoMod → Word Filter, enter the terms you want to block — one per line. Lythea deletes the message immediately and logs the incident including channel, user, and original text in the audit log.

Wildcards work: insult* also matches "insulting", "insults", etc. Case is ignored.

Members with a specific role (e.g. moderators) can be exempt from the filter.

AutoMod and the warning system work together: each AutoMod action can automatically create a warning. After X warnings, a timeout or kick follows — set it up once and it runs on its own.
