AFK System
Automatically detects inactive members in voice channels and can move them to an AFK channel.
How it Works
If a member hasn't had any voice activity or sent a chat message for a configurable amount of time, they're considered AFK. Lythea can then automatically move them to a dedicated AFK voice channel and optionally assign an AFK role. As soon as the member sends a message or becomes active in voice again, the AFK status is automatically cleared and the role (if configured) is removed.
Members can also manually mark themselves AFK with a reason — similar to Discord's built-in /afk, but with stats tracked in the dashboard.
Setup
In the dashboard under AFK → Settings, configure:
- Timeout — minutes of inactivity before someone counts as AFK (default: 15 minutes)
- AFK channel — voice channel members are automatically moved to
- AFK role — optional role assigned during AFK time, automatically removed on return
- Notification — optionally DM the member when marked AFK
- Exclusions — specific channels or roles can be excluded from the AFK system
Commands
/afk setup — initial module setup.
/afk settings — view and adjust the current configuration.
/afk set [reason] — manually mark yourself AFK, with an optional reason.
/afk back — manually end your AFK status.
/afk profile — view your own AFK stats (total time, last active).
/afk status / /afk list — see who's currently AFK on the server.
The AFK system is a free module — no premium tier required.
